Ewood Foods was formed in 1977 at Ewood, Blackburn, as a small, independent, family-run business. From these humble origins, the company has grown to become one of the North West’s leading food-service suppliers.
Over nearly five decades we have remained committed to the principles on which we were founded: offering quality, value for money and a high degree of customer care. In recognition of our success, Ewood Foods was awarded “Red Rose Lancashire Family Business of the Year” in 2019.
Due to our growth, we relocated to a purpose-built head office and distribution facility at Huncoat Industrial Estate, Accrington — ideally situated at the heart of the motorway network.
We established our own in-house butchery operation in 2017, producing our own award-winning “Kennedy’s” fresh sausages and the pioneering “Steak Canadiann” range — an innovation that underscores our determination to control quality and innovation from end to end.
Our customer base today ranges from hospitals, schools, colleges, nursing homes, sandwich bars, restaurants, licensed trade, coffee shops, hotels, golf clubs, garden centres, play centres and industrial caterers across the North West region.
Along the route we have reinvested in infrastructure, systems, and product range development so that we can continue to deliver “one-order, one-delivery, one-invoice” convenience and next-day “service you can depend on”.
At Ewood Foods Ltd we’re proud to have been honoured with the Red Rose Lancashire Family Business of the Year 2019 award, recognising our continued growth, strong customer service and family-owned ethos.
In addition, our own in-house butcher produces the winning Kennedy’s sausage range, which was shortlisted for the UK’s “Britain’s Best Sausage” in both 2022 and 2023.
